Greetings,
My name is Bill Maske, and I am a candidate for the 4th District Congressional seat. I enter this campaign with a humble heart and a determination to serve the people of the 4th District and Iowa with distinction in the U.S. Congress.
My roots can be found in the small northwest Iowa town of Peterson. My father, a veteran of World War II and the Battle of Iwo Jima, took a job teaching and coaching at Peterson Community School which later became Sioux Valley. Mom and Dad worked hard to provide for my three brothers and I. Through their example, we learned the value of family, community, faith, education, democracy, service, and hard work.
It is upon these values that I have based my personal and professional life.
For the past 34 years as an educator and public servant, I have witnessed first hand the manner in which social injustice impacts families and in particular children. I have seen how a poor economy, inadequate health care, discrimination, a deteriorating environment, rising energy costs, poverty, and limited opportunities impacts people. We can and must do better!
Doing better involves creating opportunities for ALL. Throughout the course of this campaign, I will bring front and center the issues of Health Care as a Human Right, Education as a National Imperative, Full Employment as a Moral Obligation, Balanced and Fair Trade as an Economic Responsibility, Environmental Stewardship as a Promise to our Children, Government Oversight of Big Business for the Common Good, Veteran’s Rights
as Promises to Keep, Foreign Policy to restore Global Leadership, and an end to Poverty.
We can and must do better!
You know, as do I, that these difficult times call out for new leadership. Our families, workers, and communities need help. I have prepared all my life for this time. I am ready to fight for you, the 4th District, Iowa, and our nation.
Together, we can and will fulfill the promise of this great nation now and for all future generations.
Best regards,
Bill Maske
